Stephen K. Hayt Elementary School Lunchroom Addition
The original scope of work was to build a lunchroom within the existing walls of this elementary school that was built in 1905 in the Edgewater neighborhood. Due to a lack of space, this plan was not feasible. To alleviate the space shortage, a 5,800 square-foot addition was created for a lunchroom that could hold 250 students. The lunchroom also has a warming kitchen, serving area and kitchen staff areas with circulation corridor links. Also constructed were new boys and girls toilet rooms. Two adjacent classrooms near the addition were renovated as well.Completed in the spring of 1994.
Construction cost: $700,000
